Why can't Palestinian kids play on Al-Shuhada Street, the main street in Hebron? Here, a colonial Israeli soldier gives a very succinct answer.

The Israeli colonial police uphold a colonial system that teaches racial superiority, and justifies terrorism, criminality, and brutality against the indigenous Palestinian civilian population. The colonial police of Israel work to try to break apart communities, torture innocent civilians, falsely imprison tens of thousands of Palestinians, and refuse to prosecute crimes against Palestinians, though the Israeli government gives ONLY these colonial police the "authority" to do so. The Israeli colonial police in Hebron, Palestine have been condemned repeatedly since the 1980 for refusing to prosecute violent crimes committed against Palestinian civilians in Hebron. 30 years later, you can see that nothing has changed. Instead, Israeli criminals are free to walk each day attacking whomever they like with full impunity.

On "Hebron Day," the Hebron colonial settlers' own nationalistic holiday, a colonial settler visitor walking through the olive groves drunk, threatens to kill Palestinians and says things such as "God gave me this land! God gave it to me!" He also curses Christians, saying "We killed Jesus and we're proud."

On this same day, "Hebron Day," the Azzeh family continues to assert their rights. The Azzeh family is a strong and kind family that is proudly Palestinian, as with all the families that are part of the community of Tel Rumeida, Hebron, Palestine. As with all these families, they continue to struggle against the illegal Israeli colonial occupation for their families, their community, and their country.
As the Azzeh children walk home from school, they are stopped by a mob of colonial settler women and children, including Tzippy Schlissel, the great-granddaughter of the first chief Rabbi of Israel, Yehuda Kook; Mirar; and Yifat Alkobi. Tzippy Schlissel can be seen using her crying baby to strike out at a colonial Israeli soldier to move him back.
The Azzeh mothers try to reach their children to help them and are attacked by colonial Israeli settlers, including Mirar. Three-year-old Yunis Azzeh is stoned in the head.

Another "Hebron Day" attack. This one made the international news, as a Swedish HRW was hit in the head with a bottle by
settler visitors, causing the fracturing of her eye socket. Though the Israeli police publicly stated that they did not arrest
anyone in connection with this attack, the footage proves otherwise. Witnesses, including other HRWs who were attacked by
the settler mob, stated that the Israeli colonial police, after picking up the suspects, simply drove them down the street and let them out of the

Attacks by colonial Israelis, extremely violent and flooding with hatred, are exceedingly common in Hebron, Palestine.
These attacks continue under the eyes of the world's governments, who try to mask modern-day colonialism with mere words

On June 14, 2006, settler children from the so-called "Beit Hadassah" colonial settlement attacked Palestinian workers who were building safety additions to the stairs and path of Qurtaba school, located directly across from Beit Hadassah settlement. When HRWs intervened, the settlers began attacking them brutally, throwing large rocks at close range, dousing them with water, and hitting them. The Israeli soldier stationed feet away laughed and taunted the HRWs. He refused to help at all, saying, among other things, "Go back to England!"

On May 20, 2006, Mirar, a colonial Israeli settler woman, attempted to stop Al Azzeh children from returning home from school on the path to their house. After screaming and threatening the children, they were forced back down the hill to wait for an hour, and then had to be accompanied by colonial Israeli police officers, soldiers, and UN workers to the path. However, no one accompanied the children on the path and Mirar immediately ran out of the colonial "Ramot Yishai" settlement to throw rocks at the children.
There is an Israeli Supreme Court order that allows the children to use this path, but soldiers on duty nearby rarely obey the order and often refuse to let the children pass or help the children get home safely. The settlers regularly try to attack the children or stone them as they walk home, and often arrive to tell the soldiers not to let the children pass.

January 17, 2006, colonial Israeli police present HRWs with a Closed Military Zone (CMZ) order and tell them they have 15 minutes to get off the streets or face arrest. This particular order, as reported by the media, was intended to prevent the large numbers of visiting Israeli settlers from creating more problems to try to prevent the expulsion of colonial settlers from stolen Palestinian shops. On August 21, 2005, four Palestinian children from Tel Rumeida went to the Kiryat Arba police station to file a complaint. The previous evening, colonial settler children attacked the children in the street and stole two of their bikes and three carts. A Palestinian community leader and three HRWs accompanied the children to the colonial police station to try to ensure that the colonial police did not mistreat the children. However, though the children had an appointment to meet with Amitay, the Israeli investigator, they were refused entry into the colonial police station and repeatedly humiliated by police officers for more than an hour -- a regular practice of harassment by the colonial Kiryat Arba police.
